Plagiarism in Bollywood

Few days ago I was watching Hollywood movie "The Usual Suspects" and while watching the movie, I noticed that I have seen this movie before. But I haven’t. It was like a thriller movie of knowing something that you haven’t seen or heard of. I was predicting everything to my friend that what would happen in the next scene. And I was correct every time. Then after some time and brainstorming, I remembered that I have seen a Bollywood movie named “chocolate” few years back. I remembered that when I was watching chocolate, I was astonished that Indians can write that kind of story. I became fan of Bollywood at that time. But now that I have found out that I am really disappointed in them. They even use the same small details like walkie talkies, destroying telephone booth, first meeting behind the door, same dialogues, even same music playing in the scenes, yatch fighting in the movie "Partner" which was originally "Hitch".
India have population of 1.25 billion, but they can’t produce even a single good story. Even Pakistan’s movie “Khuda ky liyay” is being copied by Hollywood “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” not to mention that it’s director was Indian (Just saying). Hence proving the saying “it’s not quantity that matters, but quality does”

Not only have that Indians copied stories but they also copy posters and costumes well and good. Here are some examples:

These are just some examples.

The point being, India need to improve their creativity, especially stories. There are many things Indians are good at like dancing and good romance. If they focus more on story than glamour.

Silence is Gold

Speech is Silver, But Silence is Golden.

‘When you have the speech of excellence,
The better and better you teach.
When you have the power of silence,
The higher and higher you reach!’

It is a fact that when we speak, others become silent and when others speak, we become silent. But it’s always upon us that what we choose- ‘speech’ or ‘silence’. When we speak, we are just confirming or showing others what we know, but when we are silent, we are increasing our own knowledge, because we are getting to know that what others know. When two best friends meet after a very long time, they have many things to say; many complaints to do; many secrets to share; many questions to be answered; and much more! But ‘silence’ is the first thing they share. It is not always necessary that we need to speak in order to express our selves. Sometimes, silence plays a greater role! We can also not deny the fact that words have healing powers. Huge wars have been stopped due to the speeches of great people. On the other hand, many wars, that changed our whole life; that ruined many people’s present, were the result of the exchange of just a few words! Mahatma Gandhi has written in his autobiography- ‘The Story of My Experiments with Truth’ that he was very shy during his childhood. He was not able to express himself properly and whenever he would have to deliver speeches, he couldn’t utter a word. Firstly, he thought that this silence was his weakness. But later in his biography, he has written that this quality his’ proved to be a boon for him. His silence became his power! In many of the non- violent protests led by him, he fought, but not by shouting aloud; but by being silent. He has said that a person who is silent has less chances of speaking anything that is unnecessary or may hurt others. This justifies that silence has greater significance than speech. Silence helps us to know our inner self.

There are times when silence become the most potential way of communication and it's more effective than words, for instance sometimes a silent angry look from our parents enough to let us feel their fury and agony, and this angry look capable of making us behave better than harsh reprimand or scolding.

Undeniably, silence needs a special kind of power and authority of mind, to say nothing is more difficult than expressing anger, happiness, love, betrayal with words. That's why it's a quite difficult conflict between a man and his mind to a long journey of controlling our senses and reactions.God is great, He has blessed us with the power of speech. But it rests with us whether we use our tongue with restraint or not. They say “if speech is silver, silence is gold.” We should therefore, use our tongue carefully. To be a good speaker is a great virtue. A good talker is well – versed in using the correct words in saying the right thing at the right moment. To be a good listener is also a great quality. A talkative person who is in the habit of speaking too much often exposes himself. If we remain silent, nobody can read our mind. Silence conceals most of our weaknesses. So we should observe as much silence as we can.

Thank you

An adventurous night

At the start of 5th semester our university decided to change our hostel. The new hostel was nearer to university but it had many cons. The staff members at the new hostel are rude and unprofessional. They could have probably more experience but less courtesy and manners. The rooms are small and number of students in a rooms has increased from 2 to 3. Also the rooms are non-ventilated. No rooms has its attached bathroom so there are community or combined bathrooms. You know very well the condition of these bathroom. So I will not bother explaining. The rules here are strict and the staff you know.

Last Thursday, some friend of mine suggest to go out and have some fun as it was the 2nd last day of our stay at hostel (oh… don’t be so happy. We’ll be here for 2 years) before going back to our towns. Our initial plan was to go before 6’o clock but there was an interesting bet going on in our hostel.
The bet was that a boy said that in GTA-Vice City, he could kill Diaz before doing that infamously difficult mission of RC plane. He bet Rs.3000 with his other 3 friends. So game was downloading and the scene was ON. Any ways, we exited hostel at 7:30 approximately.

Our plan was to go to Bahria town. So we waited at G.T road for conveyance. But there seemed no chance of it. When suddenly a pick up car stopped in front of us. We jumped in there and I noticed there are no seats back there. Soon we all realize that it was the car which transport animals (Gai, Bhains, Bakry etc).

He dropped us at the main entrance of Bahria town. So we walked 2 km to the commercial area. There we ate roll parathas from famous Hot N Spicy. A friend (Hammad) needed Eid clothes. We went to a shop. As we were entering the shop, Nomi got p**p under his shoes. He did not know and entered the shop. I smelled and saw the spots on white floor. Nomi immediately left the shop along with others leaving me and Hammad there. We explores the shop for some time. Meanwhile the owner of the shop entered the shop from outside and shouted abruptly “What the hell is this? Clean it up and spray the fragrance”. After cleaning and spraying the smell was still there so fenile was applied there but no result. Eventually ACs were turned off and doors were opened.

We left the shop with zero shopping and left them with smell. We went to a sheesha club. We remained there for an hour. It was 11’o clock already. The new hostel has the policy that no one can enter the hostel after 11. We walked to the main gate and kept walking. There was no sign of any transport at that time especially in Islamabad and especially at G.T road. We kept walking by telling each other horror stories about that area. We walked a whole lot of our journey when we rented the taxi and reached our hostel at 1’o clock. There was no one at the gate. So we knocked. No one answered.

We saw a shadow at 2nd floor. It was Ali Asghar. We asked him to awake the keeper. The gate keeper refused to open the gate. We asked him for a favor but he would not open the gate. It was 1 in the night and we were exhausted from walking. Soon two of my friends lost their temper and stared to shout on him. But it was no good. I started to make my mind to sleep on the footpath when the care taker sahib came awake from his precious sleep. His started his stories on how much dangerous time is. We were like ‘let us in man!!!!!’ He opened the gate with a warning and let us in Finally.

It was an adventurous night with so so much fun, pain, frustration and pleasure.

Chap#5 (There he was)

"Mr. Holmer" shouted the old man. "there  Mr. holmer a note for you ". And he  just went without saying a word .The note said "Hilltop ,Beside the Oak tree, eleven Sharp".
Quite Curious was he, and at the same time nervous too. Didn’t know what is happening. Went home. Dressed up Dandy. A real gentleman ! respectful, genteel, sensitive, refined, courteous, cultured, sophisticated, thoughtful, considerate, diplomatic, well-mannered, assertive. Yes he did went there,Hill top.It was scary but beautiful at the same time.
Snow sparkling like a million diamonds under the sky.Deep breath and there she was standing behind the oak tree.First it was quite blur, He had walked much, but soon it came clear and beautiful , she was the same girl he saw at the ball. Couldn’t let his eyes go off her. She looked like a fairy in that white dress, She seemed to belong to that snow.Holmers heart was beating fast and cold but couldn’t disturb him because he was in some other world right now !
The trees were stiff and frozen. Her breath looked as though she has just puffed. See the stars for miles in the Sky meadow, perfectly aligned sky.
Snow was a sight from a Landscape, so perfectly laid by Artist, In this case nature. No imperfections but her footsteps. The moon so bright it lit up the whole forest as  she was carrying a lamp with her.
He came near her . " Is it you" he said. She was frosting but looking so pretty that he wanted her to be there forever infront of him.She said "i am like you" . He didn’t understand and then he did . "oh you mean".? . . " yes i mean i can " she said. Holmer was afraid of her ,or may be her beauty . he was kind of startled. And then she spoke again ,Her voice !It was warm and flowing like hot chocolate, and everything seemed to relax when she had something to say, and she had. " Holmer The fractions you travel to future are  bound to near future and if you again travel to future fraction that would be your last fraction". Holmer was frightened and said" you mean i would be "
" yes i mean you would die, I just didn’t want to bring it that way, You can go to past only, I’ve travelled I know" Holmer believed her like he knew her since the day he was born.Holmer had an unusual type of attraction towards her. He didn’t felt of asking her name but he wanted to. He didn’t want to let her go off her eyes.Holmer said" Miss what i. . . ." ...and she interupted "Areeb it is" . . Like she knew everything before he even said it.She was amazing.
Holmer couldnt resist ,he was a charm too hah .
"Will you walk with me?Can you do that much?" Holmer said.. . .
"I cant"Areeb said nervously.
"Young woman, if you do not walk with me, I shall go mad! positively insane and do crazy things to myself! " Homer smiling and acting to make her say !
"Say, "Holmer" - that's me -"Thank you".I would love to walk with you, and talk with you, and get to know you, and...resolve things" (Holmer said with all the dandy thing and gentleman he had in him!! Holmer smiled all the time he said this!)
And there she was smiling now . Holmer was right ,When she smiled it enlightened and this time it enlightened his whole world! Stars and all the beauty was nothing against her smile. Her smile left him breathless, speechless, heart pounding, deep breaths, and shaky hands.
"Yes" she said . . .
she was late trying to get back ,"One o clock,Monday behind the church lake" she said with a deep breath. . .
Holmer smiled "She is crazy about me"
hah self obsessed man but no more because he met her . . . . .

Invention of Cats Eye

The Invention of Cat's Eyes

Percy Shaw was driving back home to Halifax from Bradford on a cold dark foggy night when his car headlights reflected in a cat's eyes. He instantly hit upon the idea to make cat's eye road markers which are now used all over the world to guide drivers on deadly dark stretches of road. What a remarkable inspiration!

Percy Shaw worked hard for 6 years on the design and finally, in 1936, he patented his invention. The first installation was done without charge by Shaw's company. Within days, the number of accidents on that road reduced due to the reflective road markers and BAM! cat's eyes were everywhere.

Born to humble parents of fourteen children, Shaw made a difference in the world by his low maintenance self-cleaning invention which saves countless lives every day.
